As I was trudging across the millennium bridge yesterday on my way to work a big pink smiley face nearly hit me in the head. For this I have Stuart Semple to thank. My close encounter was due to one of 2057 smiley clouds being launched over London by the British artist in an experiment with never-used-before technology. Created with Helium, soap and vegetable dye before being released out of one of two huge boxes on the south bank, each smile was close to a metre in diameter.
Stuart’s aim was to ‘cheer people up a bit’. Well it worked on me.
